Three years on, the genocide continues, the children continue to be slaughtered and Gaza continues to be decimated by relentless bombing. A normal day begins with an airstrike, the death of a loved one, a collapsed building, or the destruction of an entire camp. There is no respite for the people, no ceasefire, no intervention, no peace, and no security.
Three years on, the question remains: What is the solution?
Gaza as a Mirror
The genocide in Gaza is a mirror. It reflects the dignity, honor, and sacrifice of the Ummah. It also shows the deep wounds we have suffered since we lost our shield, the Khilafah.
It exposes the hypocrisy and double standards of the colonial powers, and their deep hostility towards Islam. It shows international law and its institutions for what they are: powerless, irrelevant, and subservient to the agendas of those same powers.
Most painfully, it exposes the betrayal of the rulers across the Muslim world. They have not defended Palestine. They have sided with their colonial masters. They have held back Muslim armies, silenced public demands to open the borders, and in the end protected the Zionist entity as it carries out its campaign of genocide and starvation.
Yet under the harshest conditions imaginable, the people of Gaza have stood firm and refused to concede. The wider Ummah has not been silent either. It has lived out the words of the Prophet ﷺ:
[صحيح البخاري] (مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى)
“The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body; when any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” [Bukhari]
What has been called a “war” has become the ethnic cleansing of the Muslims of Gaza, for no reason other than their faith. It recalls the People of the Ditch, to whom Allah ﷻ devoted an entire surah:
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ﴾ [سورة البروج ٨]﴿
“And they resented them for no reason except that they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.” [TMQ Surah Al-Buruj: 8]
The hatred behind this is driven by fear and envy. Envy in recognizing the truth, refusing to accept it, and then hating everyone who does. Those who carry that envy fear that the truth will prevail and expose their crooked ways. Allah ﷻ makes this clear:
[سورة البقرة ١٠٩] ﴾وَدَّ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّن بَعْدِ إِيمَانِكُمْ كُفَّارًا حَسَدًا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْحَقُّ﴿
“Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves, even after the truth has become clear to them.” [TMQ Al-Baqarah: 109]
The believer has always been set apart by submission to the Creator in his/her affairs. A Muslim puts his/her own whims aside and worships none but Allah ﷻ. A Muslim places his/her forehead on the ground in humility, and refuses to recognize any legislator or sovereign besides Allah ﷻ.
Despite the devastation, the signs of Allah’s ﷻ decree and mercy remain visible. The people of Gaza endure. Children are still born. Families still hold on to hope. The Gazan people, who have lost almost everything, still declare, in word and in deed, that they have not surrendered their Iman.
Betrayal and Two-State Solution
The two-state plan does not liberate Palestine. It entrenches the occupation. It legitimizes the Zionist state and secures its existence while creating a powerless Palestinian authority with no real sovereignty. It simply repackages the status quo and lets the colonial powers and Arab regimes wash the blood from their hands.
The plan also serves a deeper purpose. It spreads a culture of pragmatism and defeatism within the Ummah. By teaching each generation to accept compromise and partial concessions, it emboldens the enemies of Islam to demand ever more and distracts from the only real path to liberation.
This is not new. Since 1959, Washington has carefully turned the Palestinian issue into a controlled project to preserve the Zionist entity while pacifying Muslims with promises of a Palestinian “state.” From Camp David to Oslo, from the Abraham Accords to the proposals of Biden and Trump, the substance has not changed. Palestinians are offered autonomy without sovereignty, police without armies, and a flag without power.
Republican or Democrat, the policy stays the same: secure the occupation, neutralize Muslim anger, and redirect the Ummah into endless negotiations. Every time Muslims begin to rise, another “solution” appears (Oslo, roadmaps, peace talks, ceasefires, Trump’s 20-point Board of Peace plan) that promises progress and delivers paralysis. These illusions numb the Ummah into accepting their “peace” as destiny.
The Ummah must stay clear-headed and not fall, out of desperation and fatigue, into a colonial solution that offers only temporary relief while the Zionist entity keeps its grip on the blessed land. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“A believer is not stung from the same hole twice.” [Bukhari]
Unsurprisingly, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, and the UAE have joined in as servants, further entrenching America's influence over Gaza's future and its plan to turn Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Gaza has been reduced to an administrative problem managed by foreign powers, investors, political elites, and war criminals. This is domination outsourced and dressed in humanitarian language.
A Clear Islamic Solution
If Gaza has taught us anything, it is this: petitions do not stop tanks, UN resolutions do not stop bombs, and the will to resist alone will not bring liberation. The Ummah has immense resources: two billion Muslims, vast wealth, and powerful armies. What holds us back is not a lack of capability. It is betrayal at the top.
Is three years not enough time for Muslims to see that the wall between them and change is the tyrannical rulers who stop Muslim armies from marching to Gaza and the blessed land? These are rulers who protect the colonizers' interests and hand Muslim wealth to the West! And what of the armies that are meant to serve their people and their causes? Is the genocide of Gaza not enough to move them to remove these rulers who have sold them out?
Gaza is not merely a “humanitarian” or “political” crisis. Rather, it is a military occupation of the blessed land, and its solution lies with the Ummah's armies. From the beginning of the genocide and for decades prior, Hizb ut-Tahrir has been calling for the only true solution. Military occupation requires a military liberation. This is both a Shari' obligation and a rational conclusion.
The help of Allah ﷻ comes when we take the correct action prescribed for achieving the needed victory. The correct action in liberating Palestine is the mobilization of the Muslim armies, the removal of the treacherous Muslim rulers, and establishing the rule of Islam.
As the Ummah awakens, it must stay steadfast. It must not cower, concede, or take the repeated steps of pragmatism and compromise that prolong the misery, even when they are taken with sincere intentions to ease immediate hardship:
وَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ﴾ [سورة ال عمران ١٣٩]﴿
"So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will have the upper hand if you are believers." [TMQ Aal-Imran 3:139]
Our duty is not only to resist the injustice of the Zionist entity but to work for the complete liberation of Palestine. That takes more than protests or negotiations. It requires the restoration of the Khilafah upon the Prophetic method and the mobilization of Muslim armies.
A Call to Muslims in America
Muslims in America carry a particular responsibility.
Firstly, we must recognize America's role in sustaining oppression in the Muslim world. Trump and Biden alike have openly pledged loyalty to Zionism, pouring weapons and money into the occupation while silencing dissent at home.
Secondly, political activism is not limited to lobbying, electoral politics, du’a, and charity.
Thirdly, the solution is neither “two states” nor any “peace” plan the West proposes.
Our duty is to deepen our ideological clarity, organize within our communities, and connect Gaza's pain to the wider project of reviving Islam's system of justice. Our activism should focus on calling the Muslim armies to liberate Gaza and calling for the removal of the rulers and the re-establishment of the Khilafah on the footsteps of Prophethood in the Muslim lands. Our lectures, khutbahs, and conversations must confront the illusions that hold us back.
Gaza's steadfastness carries a message to Muslims in the West: we cannot be passive observers. Our responsibility is not to retreat into comfortable activism but to stand directly against the forces of oppression. The struggle is not only theirs. It is ours.
The Prophet ﷺ warned:
“There is no man who deserts a Muslim in a situation where his sanctity is violated and his honor is diminished, but Allah will desert him in a situation where he loves His support.” [Abu Dawud]
Gaza is the Ummah's mirror. Its ruins reflect our weakness, but its resilience reveals our potential. Its orphans indict our rulers, but they also awaken our conscience. Its steadfastness proves that even under starvation and siege, Iman cannot be extinguished.
The Ummah's destiny is to rise again under sincere leadership, carry Islam's justice to humanity, and liberate Al-Aqsa as part of its divine trust.
History will record whether we stood firm on the truth or gave in to compromise. The blood of Gaza and the resilience of its people point to one conclusion: the path forward is the revival of the Khilafah, and the time to commit is now. Only then will Allah ﷻ fulfill His promise:
“Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will certainly grant them succession in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them, and that He will surely replace their fear with security. They worship Me and associate nothing with Me.” [TMQ An-Nur 24:55]
“O you who believe! Respond to Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.” [TMQ Al-Anfal 8:24]
